WHAT SERVICES DO RESIDENTS RECEIVE?

BASIC SERVICES
here are basic services that all residential aged care facilities must provide. Accommodation services such as furnishings and bedding; laundry and cleaning; buildings maintenance and nursing staff on call at all hours must be provided at no additional charge for all residents.

All nursing home and hostel residents receive assistance with activities such as bathing, eating and dressing; assistance with mobility and communications; meals, including special diets; and support for people with dementia.

Residents requiring higher levels of care also receive nursing and personal care services without an additional charge. These may include specialised furnishing and equipment to assist with mobility and maintaining continence; basic medical and pharmaceutcal supplies and equipment; nursing procedures and therapy services.

EXTRA SERVICES
Some residential aged care facilities offer a higher standard of accommodation and services for residents who are preparedto pay additional charges. Such facilities are classified as"extra service" facilities (previously called "exempt" nursing homes). Thompson Health Care's four nursing homes - Tarragal House, Milford House, Terrey Hills Nursing Home and Turramurra Nursing Home - are among the limited number of homes (only 4%) offerring these exceptional standards of accommodation, meals and services.
